Away

Well, I've been away for the Holiday season and am just now returnning. I have a lot I'd like to work out and will most likely do it here. Please be patient with me.

Above all, be patient with yourself.

There's no shortcut to healing wounds of the heart. But as Dan Fogelberg says, "Lessons learned are like bridges burned; you only need to cross them once."

Is the knowledge gained worth the price of the pain are the spoils worth the cost of the hunt? At long last I've found another Dan Fogelberg fan....

Thanks for the encouraging words. And, unfortunately, there is no shortcut to healing. Why must every area of growth require some pain? Sigh.

Oh, E. . . . I could sing a few lyrics from Alanis Morissette right about here, but I think you've already lived many of them.

Here's what I know: life's gifts come wrapped in adversity. I lost out on far too many gifts for far too long because I wasn't willing to pay the price---like the world simply owed me everything I desired, gratis.

These days, whenever I find myself knee-deep in shit, I start looking for the pony. I just wish I could have realized much earlier in life just how right Alanis is. But hey, you live, you learn.
